Policy makers and tech innovators to discuss industry concerns at GAT Summit 2022, Africa’s largest regulation convo

Technext, a tech media organization, has announced its first-ever regulation event, which is going to be called the GAT Summit (Government and Tech Summit) 2022. On Thursday, July 28, 2022, is when it is scheduled to take place. The event is slated to be the largest gathering of government policymakers, political influencers, tech industry players, and enthusiasts in Africa, with a proposed physical audience of at least 1,500 and a virtual attendance of at least 3,000. Virtual attendees are expected to include at least 3,000 people.

Participants from the African tech ecosystem will have the opportunity to speak with government stakeholders about current issues that are affecting the tech industry during the one-day event. In the future, the GAT Summit will be an annual event at which participants from the technology industry will have the chance to engage in frank conversation with policymakers from all over Africa regarding the effect that regulations have on their respective industries and to propose solutions that will stimulate economic expansion.

Financial technology (also known as "Fintech"), media regulation, and technology for governance are the three sub-sectors of the ecosystem that are expected to be the focus of the discussions that registered delegates can look forward to ( Govtech). The well-known host of Rufai Oseni on Arise TV will serve as the moderator for the panel discussion.

The Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwoolu, will deliver the keynote address. Also in attendance will be representatives from the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy, the Nigerian Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), and the Central Bank of Nigeria.

Other individuals who have agreed to speak at the event include Yomi Adedeji, Chief Executive Officer & Co-Founder of Softcom Limited; Oluwemimo J. Osanipin, Chief Operating Officer of JET Motors; Bukola Olutayo, Managing Director of Stellas Bank; Hanu Agbodje, Founder and CEO of Patricia; and Oluwemimo Agbodje.
